Project Overview
Vision Statement
SPO Academy empowers Stake Pool Operators on the Cardano blockchain to transform their technical expertise into sustainable, thriving business operations through comprehensive project-based learning.
Mission
To bridge the gap between technical proficiency and business acumen in the Cardano ecosystem by providing SPOs with practical frameworks, real-world scenarios, and blockchain-verified credentials.
Target Audience
Primary SPO Personas
The SPO Business Persona Document delivered in Milestone 1 defines two avatar groups: the customers who run pools, and the channels that reach them.
Customers — individuals and organisations running a stake pool on Cardano. They are segmented by why they run it, because that motivation shapes what a viable pool means to them:
| Segment | Motivation | Example avatars |
|---|---|---|
| Learning-led | Building the node and a delegator engagement business as a way to learn | Techy Adopters |
| External focus | Using the pool to build community and engagement beyond it | Jonathan (investment-focused), Fletcher (saver-to-investor platform), CNC (impact-led community of interest) |
| Internal focus | Pool income funding an organisation's activity in the Catalyst ecosystem | Amir (regional adoption), SWARM, Sanada |
Channels — SPO organisations and associations, who reach their members on our behalf and may become customers themselves, whether white-labelling the programme or taking coaching on SPO growth. Examples: XSPO, CNC, C4C, and regional bodies.
Writing for the aggregate. Course and assignment content addresses the common shape rather than any one avatar: an operator, solo or with a small team, whose gap is business skill rather than technical skill, and for whom the pool is often a means to something else. Hence content speaks of "your pool and whatever it exists to support".
